Blakeway wins Nobel commissions
Blakeway Productions has won a double commission for two shows on this year’s Nobel Prize awards.
The first is an hour-long highlights show which gives an insight into the work of this year’s Nobel Laureates as well as interviews with the winners and footage from the actual ceremonies in Oslo and Stockholm.The Nobel Prize gives out annual awards for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, peace and economics. This year’s winners will be announced in October with the ceremonies held on 10 December.
The Ten Alps-owned company has also been commissioned to make the half hour documentary The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate which will focus solely on the winner of the peace prize. Previous winners of the acclaimed award have included Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela.
The two shows were commissioned by Tamzen Isacsson, head of production and distribution at Nobel Media. Both shows will be executive produced by Blakeway Productions managing director Fiona Stourton.
The documentaries will be distributed internationally by Nobel Media. As yet, no broadcaster is attached to either show. Blakeway is due to deliver the two programmes by the end of November.
